Barcelona suffered their second defeat in La Liga this season against Real Betis (4-3) in the 12th  round of the tournament.

Pictures of the Spanish channel Movistar picked up a conversation during the match between Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and defender Gerard Pique.

When the score was 3-1 in favor of Real Betis, Pique decided to move forward to help the team get back on track and asked Ivan Rakitic to be back in defense.

Piquet's decision was not correct. The defender lost a ball in the front line and fired a barter for Rakitich to block him, then made a mistake and got his second yellow card and left the pitch.

At the moment, Valverde, who preferred to avoid conceding goals, came up with an almost impossible return. The result was 4-2. "Where are you? ... Go, we've got another goal," he said.

Man Utd legend says champions have potential to emulate Arsenal side of 2003/04 going the season unbeaten

Paul Scholes says Manchester City can go through the season unbeaten.

After watching their impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday, Scholes does not see many sides troubling the champions and believes they can emulate Arsenal's "Invincibles", who went undefeated throughout the 2003/04 season.

"The more you look at the City team, I don't see where they're going to get beat," the former United midfielder says.

Scholes sees Liverpool, who are two points behind City, as being the champions' nearest challengers, but says the strength in depth available to Pep Guardiola makes his team candidates to emulate Arsenal’s record.

"I think Liverpool will probably be the closest, but I just think they [City] are that good, they are in control," Scholes says.

"You look at the bench as well today. [Gabriel] Jesus, not brought on, a brilliant centre-forward, [Ilkay] Gundogan, they bring on, scores a goal. They've just got quality in every position.

"I think if they are at it every game, they won't lose a game.

•     Shaqiri eases Liverpool to sixth win

Xherdan Shaqiri celebrated a first Premier League start for Liverpool by being involved in two of the three first-half goals.

On 10 minutes his shot was deflected in off Wesley Hoedt for an own goal.

On 21 minutes, Joel Matip’s towering header from a corner made it 2-0.

After going close a number of times, Mohamed Salah scored on the stroke of half-time, tapping in after Shaqiri’s free-kick had hit the bar.

The second half was quieter. Virgil Van Dijk went off with an injury that did not look serious, while Salah thought he had a late second but was ruled offside.

Liverpool are top with 18 points, while Southampton are 14th with five points.
